- Sheehan syndrome (Infarction after massive haemorrhage, e.g. during childbirth)
- Pituitary apoplexy
- Infiltrative disorders (Haemochromatosis, lymphocytic hypophysitis)
- Genetic disorders [Mutation in PROP-1 or POU1F1 (previously known as Pit- 1)]
- Hypothalamic disorders
